Manchester United’s bar was so low it could only go up – Craig Burley | ESPN FC

ESPN FC’s Craig Burley and Ross Dyer assess whether Manchester United’s win vs. Norwich City, its first Premier League win since Sept. 14, is reason enough for fans at Old Trafford to start celebrating. Burley says Man United will remain mediocre while Ed Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are in charge and scoffs at the claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pre-Man United CV compares to Sir Alex Ferguson’s when he joined from Aberdeen.

  1. I wouldn't read too much into a United win over Norwich. Solskjaer was handed the manager's job last season on a run of wins over the weaker teams in the Premier League. Then they ran into the strong teams and started losing again. Since then their form has been erratic. Yes they beat Chelsea, but in Lampard's first match as a newbie Premier League manager. Yes they drew with Liverpool, but it was a badly off-form Liverpool. Lampard's Chelsea would beat them now, and so would a top-form Liverpool at Anfield. I'll believe the team has improved when it is competitive with the teams at the top.

  4. This guy hates all teams except Liverpool…man city…Barcelona…the rest are never enough for him he always find something negetive to say…i wonder if he ever played football

  5. United have been horrible this season, but it's definitely possible for them to beat us. I'm sure we will start a lot of youngsters in that game as well so we will see. I won't be surprised if Ole puts out a full strength team.

  6. Man United are the new "AC Milan" . Stop hating Man U fans you know you are . When you got the 1-1 draw at home to LFC you were celebrating. Then you started creaming you pants coz you beat Norwich away. You will probably lose to Bournemouth and get back into the relegation battle . YNWA x 6 UCL

  7. Thank god Pogba was not there to miss the penalty. Otherwise missing for him is not viewed the same as other players.

  8. End of season:
    1. Liverpool
    2. City
    3. Chelsea
    4. Leicester
    5. Arsenal
    6. United
    7. Spurs
Top 7 will probably make it to Europe again, so I don't see United missing out.

  9. This thing called Craig is a very low IQ guy and self-hater for manchester United. Now that manchester united played against Liverpool very well it was then he realized Liverpool are not playing well but not that manchester improved, hmmm my guy thunder will fire this Craig.

  10. Is this guy serious these guys hate man united so much i guess coz we have won so much😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  11. I remember Craig was bashing ,Mourinho,Sarri,Pochettino also he criticize Guardiola at his first season with Manchester City he’s full of sh…t he never managed any team and the reason he’s with espn is BBC or sky sports doesn’t want his service.

  12. Liverpool didnt have a off day you inept excuse for a pundit Burley! If they can't get up for a United game they won't win a thing! Simply just outplayed for 75% of the match. Chelsea's run is no different to Utd when Ole took over and as the season goes on their problems will arise again but no mention on here about that! The problem at Utd has always been the back staff and everybody has known that for years. And Ole's mates as you call them have called them out know because enough is enough, plain as! Doesnt matter what manager is at the helm.

  13. There should be some terms and conditions for guys like him to get sacked if his predictions proved wrong.
All the time having a rant at man utd.

  14. I kept telling this, if United hadnt beaten Chelsea (leave 4-0) in the first game, Craig wouldve been more charitable to United. He lost his face after that thrashing. Now we need to bear his United hatred punditry mumbo jumbo

  15. How strange it is for people to easily switch. Last week the talks was full of all negativities and how OLE will be fired in January, now listen to this guy comparing OLE with Sir Fergie! Wow!!! Human beings!!!

  16. this win won nothing loser " Borely" was screwed sooo many times by sir alex…he is still having nightmares… how many league titles craig???

  17. Graig right about former man united players protecting OGS compared to Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho. He is doing worse than them.

  18. Man Utds success means Stevie and Craig never had a chance of winning EPL or other trophies. That's why they hate United
